so. being awesome, i managed to sprain my back in a nasty fashion at work this morning. i wish i had been doing something on my 'not to attempt' list when it happened, but not. i was picking up a tiny box, about the size of my head, that contained maybe six books, and my back spasmed when i moved. i have zero range of movement in my right side and am in fantastic amounts of pain. doctors orders i am out of work through Friday. I am now trying desperately to make sure all shifts in the store are covered.

not a happy kitty

Ow. I hope it feels better quickly. I'm sure the furbabies will be quite happy to have you home and will offer up some matchless kitty comfort.

poor unhappy kitty...

*pauses, thinking* I think that's how Hildy ruptured the two bulging disks in her back, by picking up the cookie part of an "Uh Oh Oreo".

You know, we stopped by at the store yesterday to say "hi" while we were out and about, and you weren't there ^_^. I'm glad you had some time off.

if it helps, I remember unpacking one of those boxes. It has more then 6 books in it. It does!

Backs are odd things. You can just get out of bed in the morning and oof! There it goes!

more than six is good. more impressive. heavier.
...i think those boxes top out at 8 though...

it is rather funny how predictable phone calls have been today.

Caller- "Hey, are you alright?"
April- "Yeah. More or less"
Caller- "Oh good. Was worried. So. Jumped by a little box, eh?"
April- "Sod off."
Caller- (dissolves into fit of laughter)

Hey, notice I am not laughing. I know how tricky backs can be (and knees - I am the person who ended up a deep bone bruise for NO REASON that crippled me for a month).

And besides, I know how heavy some of our "little" books are. I think the paper is made of metal.

That sucks SO MUCH. I know back problems are one of the most painful and inconvenient things to have to deal with. I wish you a speedy recovery!!! (and lots of kitty love while you rest)
