[livejournal.com profile] artaddict obviously knows of my love of all things Ood. Santa!Ood is my superhero.

I think [livejournal.com profile] scribblemoose captured most of my oldest and dearest fandoms right there. What a pleasure that was to open this afternoon!

Thank you both, and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been filling my mailbox with cards. Now, pardon me whilst I go bask. I love getting mail. It really is the little things when it comes to me. At the end of the week I will take a picture of the bedroom wall I have been taping all of the cards to, so I can smile at them every morning <3

Jack, the ferret recovered from a dumpster that we have been working with since September, was adopted Sunday! It will take some time for the small female he is living with to get used to him, but the other male seemed rather happy to have a new brother. Jack investigated every nook and cranny and dooked happily to himself the entire time. Best outcome I could have imagined for such a socially awkward ferret.

Jack, enjoying his new digs.

"The Modern Fae’s Guide to Surviving Humanity shorts are written by some
established fantasy writers and a few unknowns. Interestingly, two of
my favorites turned out to be by a couple of unknowns: To Scratch an
Inch by Avery Shade, a tale about a little Fae girl who finds out why
it’s not wise to scratch every itch and How Much Salt, a tale about how
Selkie are adapting to the invasion of their beaches by humans, by April
Steenburgh
.
(Linda, at Goodreads) "

"...All of these stories stood alone just fine (if they were companion stories
to a series, I couldn't tell), but there were a few stories here whose
worlds I wouldn't mind revisiting - Elizabeth Bears', Shannon Page and
Jay Lake's, and April Steenburg's, in particular.
( Janicu's Book Blog )"

Of course...I always seem to get the writing itch when it is clearly bed time.
