recently, I mentioned a glorious Hawkeye/Clint Barton addiction. I also promised pictures from World Fantasy Brighton. These things have much in common.
I was lured overseas by
suricattus, who is an experienced traveler and April-wrangler and was a beautiful balance to my anxiety around all places and things I do not know. Foreign country? Ranks real damn high on causing anxiety in the realm of things and places I do not know. But, we made plans to stay a week in Brighton, coming in early for the con to enjoy a couple days of London, involving a signing for
suricattus at Forbidden Planet. Where I found Tiny Barton.

I am rather infamous for bringing a mascot to the conference. All previous years it has been one of T's Monster Bags, which have taken bites of authors. But this year Barton applied superior infiltration skills and won pride of place.
We are pretty sure using him on a crossbow shooting game counts as cheating, Marie.

I rarely get to see
desperance, it was lovely to see him and Barton get along.

Kate, one of the authors from Fight Like a Girl, was extra considerate and took time to show Barton around.

I am pretty sure Barton managed to take Charlie captive.

Barton even crashed
suricattus' signing

I...assume Barton and Rothfuss bonded.

Authors are adults. Also we figured Barton could get himself out of whatever knot we managed to tangle him into. Giving him whiskers was just a bonus.

Barton blushed after meeting

...this is why I am not allowed out in public more often.

I assume he was whispering secret spy things in
jemck's ear. Or just really good gossip.

I can assure you he stole some of
mizkit's fudge shortly after this shot. I don't know why none of it got to me though.

It was a long, good conference.

Real pictures to follow. Promise. But...this may be what I do when I hang out with friends I don't see nearly often enough.
