So, I have looked over what I have left, and while there is no replacing the bulk of the library, there are some books that I need back in my life. There will most likely be additions, over time, but these are the ones whose loss make me wince the most. These are the rereaders, the ones I think of immediately when I am sad the books are gone. For everyone who has asked what they can help with, what I need- honestly, a book off this list would be brilliant. We have the basics, these books would be a great comfort.

Flood Recovery list

[livejournal.com profile] djkc and I have more or less settled into the new place. We need to get uncluttered enough to get the ferrets and Ferdinand back to living with us (life without ferrets has been strange). Apart from being exhausted and a little wired from being constantly in 'go' mode for weeks on end at this point, we are doing well. We are very lucky in our friends and family. Very lucky. And we are very thankful.

I would love to help you replace your Monette books - I know if I lost mine I'd be devastated. Because some of them are out of print, though, you'll need to give Amazon permission to share your address with third-party sellers so I can get them for you.

Let me know when you've done that and they're yours, with pleasure. :)

I'm so pleased you're all right and hope you can be reunited with the ferrets soon. *hugs*

The Monette books were my babies (as evidenced by the cat named Mildmay I suppose...). Ticky box for sharing my address with third party sellers has been ticked. Let me know if it fails to function.

And thank you so very much, dear. There really are no adequate words for how much everyone's willingness to lend a hand has meant to me. *hug*

They're on their way to you, my dear. I wish there was more I could do, but I know how important books are, so hopefully they'll be some comfort. *hugs back*

You have done a bunch. Thank you! It will be amazing to have those books back in my home :) And now I will get to smile every time I see them.

yea! Call the house when you reach the uncluttered stage - if it is tonight, c will probably be home before me. And the ferts will probably be oh so very happy to home with you two that will be more then content in the small cage if needed until the bigger cage arrives! =-)

Probably not tonight, but very soon. Just need to get a little clutter gone and some proofing done. We miss the kids :)

So...I am off Friday and am really missing my ferret-kids. Can we borrow a small cage and take the kids home? (Will the single level cage fit in my car, do you think?)

Will you be in Ithaca Friday? Or would you like to help me get Ferdinand back and settled?

So sorry about your losses during the flooding. Have been in NY clearing out my parents' home & keeping as many books as possible. Way too many have been damaged in flooding to the point that they aren't keepable. Yeah not a word but you get my meaning. Had to do the same here about 10 yrs ago when our basement flooded. Not anything near as bad as you have recently been through though. All of the animals made it ok?

All of the animals made it through alright. Some are still scattered in foster homes as [livejournal.com profile] djkc and I get ourselves back together, but we hope to have everyone home within the week.

Oh, what an ordeal. :( Best of luck getting settled again, glad to hear you're doing all right (or all right as can be, considering.)

Hooray for a book list! I'll see what I can do.
