Well, that was an adventure!

So, World Fantasy happened. In Canada. It was a lovely con. I got to see some of my favorite people in the world. Hang out. Enjoy good food and conversation. Sign some books. Get acute food poisoning right before heading home.
Ok, so that last part did not really add to the fun. But I did get to sample the Canadian medical system. The travel party was split as a result, some folks really needing to get home, and this person too nauseous to cooperate with the swaying monster van that had been rented. This led to walking across the border the next day and a chain of friends cooperating to bring me home.
Here are the WFC 2012 pictures! In all of their hilarity and glory (pre-poison).
I had one day of wobbling about Binghamton in a state of low blood sugar and sleep before I had to head out to the NYLA conference in Saratoga Springs. Which was also a lovely conference (and included exponentially less vomit). I had been awarded a fellowship to attend the conference, my first professional award of any sort, so very cool. I engaged in networking, attended talks, and kept my roommate awake with a surprise bout of snoring (I...have no idea where it came from and remain chagrined).
I fumbled back from NYLA just in time to start my new job as reference librarian over at the local community college.
Somewhere in all of this I also germinated a few story ideas and actually got some writing done. So, not a complete loss on the side-job end of things.
How is everyone else doing?

Hope the memories of food poisoning fade faster than the good ones.
