In a month, a strange and wonderful thing will occur.
The anthology my short story is a part of goes on sale.

As this is my first published work, this is sort of a wonderful and terrifying thing. The usual 'oh gods, no one is going to like it' is combining with the 'oh man, there are some super awesome people in that book with me' and melting down into '...I hope folks buy it.'
I have wanted to be a writer since as early as I can remember, keeping a light at the side of my bed so I could stay up well past my bed time reading. I wanted to make other people as happy as people like David Eddings and Anne McCaffrey made me. I wanted to tell the stories jostling around my head like butterflies on amphetamines. It was the better part of a year ago when I got the acceptance letter. It seemed so comfortably far away, publication. Now there are four weeks between me and a physical copy of my writing. There are four weeks between you guys and physical copies of my writing. Please do snag a copy, in whatever format you prefer, but buy it, mention it, review it if that is your gig. Get the word out for me. Chat about it in the next few weeks before it's release. I would really appreciate it.
I have been so very lucky to have the support of a local of writers over the years, even though we are now spread more or less to the winds. It let me actually consider this something I could do. I am damn lucky to have all of my online support, the folks who hassled me into writing through sickness, disaster, and depression. I am lucky to have met such amazing writers over the past few years who have been able to encourage and support me and let me know writers are people too. With day jobs and cats and insecurities and writers block and drafts that need work. People that are more than willing to sit with me in a bar and talk about things that have nothing to do with writing and just be spectacular friends.
...I have a signing on March 10th, for anyone in NY who feels like going for a drive. At Flights of Fantasy Books and Games in Albany. This will be the first signing I am attending, as opposed to organizing :D
