SO! It is getting a bit chilly here in the northeast.
And I have some fantastic scarves in my etsy store!

Recycled sari silk scarf, rainbow colored - super long and warm and silky to the touch.

Alpaca and angora scarf -  softest thing I have ever crocheted.

Angora mohair with rayon accents scarf
I will be adding a few more over the next week or so. Prices are low, and really are just to support my crochet habit. I use only homespun yarns, and try to hunt up interesting fibers/combinations.

Take a look! They make excellent holiday gifts!

/shameless self promotion

EDIT- Three more scarves listed! Second two are recycled sari silk, and both are multicolored/rainbow.

Pale green 100% alpaca scarf- lacy crochet

First one is wider

second is pretty thin, but has the best colors

Yay, shameless self promotion! Also - congrats on the sales. :)

One looks like a dud. giving the buyer until this evening, and then canceling the purchase- they aren't responding to messages and it has been three days since they purchased it, with no payment. Alas. So one lacy green alpaca scarf is likely to be relisted this evening.

Oooh, I like the rainbow one. I'd buy it, but I'm pretty sure I don't even have ten bucks in my account right now. Will you have it up for a little while?

I should. It has been up there a bit now without going home with anyone :)

I am also working on a few more with a slightly more fuzzy/less silky recycled sari material, so either way there will be rainbow scarves in my store. colors aren't as shiny (for lack of a better word) but it is still rainbow. the recycled sari is my favorite material to work with. so pretty and every skein is different.

I just ordered more of the recycled sari yarn. Do you want me to make and set one aside for you so it doesn't get scooped up immediately again? I can hold it for as long as you need.

Oooh, that would be lovely. However, it may be awhile before I have the money... I wouldn't want you to make another and be unable to buy it for a couple months. I just have to figure out how to get this check in my account (complicated story is complicated). Tell ya what. I'll talk to my bank and get back to you, k?

Ya know what? It's pretty and I want it so go head and make one and set it aside. I'll get the money somehow.

When I finish it, I will let you know.
And no rush- when you find the money, its yours. Until then it will wait :)

I have one finished that was made with the scraps of a few skeins I had left over, so it has more color variety than usual.

I do also have about four more of the sari silk skeins coming to me (three rainbow, one pure royal blue) if you would rather wait and see what those look like.

If you like the one that is on etsy, let me know, and I will make it as reserved for you and you can snag it whenever you get around to it.

Oooh pretty. I wanna say that I'll wait and see what the others look like, but that one DOES have more color variety than usual. Very, very pretty. Um. Question! Is that one around the same size of the ones that you usually make? I just like wider scarves (live in Ohio so my only thin scarves don't get worn much.) It looks big enough and... yes. so pretty. So sure, go ahead and put that one on hold. (Though now I'm interested in the royal blue one too, oh god)

Umm, actually. I didn't see the green and blue one before but it is seriously the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. So uh, if it's still there I might have to buy both. And the wool isn't scratchy at all? It looks so soft!

The green and blue one is an alpaca and wool mix- the alpaca does a good job of smoothing out the wool. It isn't silky soft, but I dont mind it (and I hate wool). It isnt as long as some of the others though. I can wrap it around twice. The girl who dyed and spun that yarn did an amazing job, didnt she?

Most of mine come out at around 3-4 inches in width. the sari silk one you are looking at is pretty solidly 3, but the scarf is long enough that I can wrap it around my neck about 4 times.

If you are looking for something super warm and wide, there is the angora and alpaca scarf. Softest scarf EVER. (I would knock the price down for you if you like her. She has been sitting there unloved for about a year now. Would sell her for 15, same as the rest)

this is the skein the blue one will be made from

You can buy whichever ones, and as few or many, as you want. Just let me know if you want to do it through etsy or not (so I can pull them down if you want to do it elsewise) and if you want the one that is 25 for 15, let me know and I will either change the price for you on etsy or just pull it down if we are selling outside of the site.

...long response was long....

The problem with this is that you've hit on my one true love, which is scarves. Seriously, I have so many. But only a couple of them are handmade and really, that makes all the difference. Thanks for holding the Sari one, and if my finances let me I might buy one of the others too. ♥

Hah, we are a hilarious match. I like making scarves, but I am baffled when it comes to wearing them. I am weird like that :) [livejournal.com profile] djkc on the other hand is quite the connoisseur of scarves and his collection is mighty.

I just adore crocheting with handspun fiber. Selling them means I get to buy more new and interesting yarns. otherwise we would be overrun with the things.

Thank you for the heads up. I've been wanting one of those recycled sari scarves for ages as I love the colours, but just haven't found one that's 'just right'. Am now happy buyer of the rainbow scarf! (there's a joke in there somewhere) [grin] and best of all it's knit by someone I know. I love etsy. :-)

Will be going to the post Thursday. That ok by you?

I have lost entire afternoons to browsing Etsy. Dangerous place. Wonderful and dangerous.

It is hilariously endearing to have that scarf go to someone I actually know. I hope you enjoy it! It came from what remains the best batch of recycled sari material I have been able to find :)
