SO! It is getting a bit chilly here in the northeast.
And I have some fantastic scarves in my etsy store!
Recycled sari silk scarf, rainbow colored - super long and warm and silky to the touch.
Alpaca and angora scarf - softest thing I have ever crocheted.
Angora mohair with rayon accents scarf
I will be adding a few more over the next week or so. Prices are low, and really are just to support my crochet habit. I use only homespun yarns, and try to hunt up interesting fibers/combinations.
Take a look! They make excellent holiday gifts!
/shameless self promotion
EDIT- Three more scarves listed! Second two are recycled sari silk, and both are multicolored/rainbow.
Pale green 100% alpaca scarf- lacy crochet
First one is wider
second is pretty thin, but has the best colors

Date: 2010-10-19 07:07 pm (UTC)I am also working on a few more with a slightly more fuzzy/less silky recycled sari material, so either way there will be rainbow scarves in my store. colors aren't as shiny (for lack of a better word) but it is still rainbow. the recycled sari is my favorite material to work with. so pretty and every skein is different.

I do also have about four more of the sari silk skeins coming to me (three rainbow, one pure royal blue) if you would rather wait and see what those look like.
If you like the one that is on etsy, let me know, and I will make it as reserved for you and you can snag it whenever you get around to it.

Date: 2010-10-26 06:18 pm (UTC)Most of mine come out at around 3-4 inches in width. the sari silk one you are looking at is pretty solidly 3, but the scarf is long enough that I can wrap it around my neck about 4 times.
If you are looking for something super warm and wide, there is the angora and alpaca scarf. Softest scarf EVER. (I would knock the price down for you if you like her. She has been sitting there unloved for about a year now. Would sell her for 15, same as the rest)

this is the skein the blue one will be made from

You can buy whichever ones, and as few or many, as you want. Just let me know if you want to do it through etsy or not (so I can pull them down if you want to do it elsewise) and if you want the one that is 25 for 15, let me know and I will either change the price for you on etsy or just pull it down if we are selling outside of the site.
...long response was long....

Date: 2010-10-26 06:56 pm (UTC)I just adore crocheting with handspun fiber. Selling them means I get to buy more new and interesting yarns. otherwise we would be overrun with the things.

Date: 2010-10-20 02:10 am (UTC)It is hilariously endearing to have that scarf go to someone I actually know. I hope you enjoy it! It came from what remains the best batch of recycled sari material I have been able to find :)
