i am officially too far behind on lj to catch up. damn you, Paolini and the spazzy work weekend your release made me suffer!
one good thing,
libwitch took me to lunch...and then to get a crock pot!
for meat eaters in here-
pork tenderloin and apples!
peel, core, and cut four apples into eighths.
place in bottom of crock pot. pour one cup apple cider over apples. sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
place pork tenderloin on top of apples. sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon
cook on high for one hour, then low for 4 1/2 to 5 hours.
it was delicious. the pork fell apart when i tried to get it out of the pot. loooooove

Date: 2008-09-23 10:37 pm (UTC)erm...i actually dont remember what size loins they were. i snagged them at the local supermarket and tossed them into the crockpot. *facedesk* i can peek when i go to the store later and get you a proper answer?
and i KNOW there are recipes for chops as opposed to tenderloins. i am just oddly addicted to the tenderloin, so that is what i usually use. if you google pork and apple you should get some results.
and dear god was it good. the tenderloin melted in my mouth, even the next day after being microwaved. i dont like sweet meat much, but there are ways to glaze the meat so it gets more of a finish to it. mine just absorbed the cider and apple flavor for a nice tart, apple-y finish to the flavor of the pork. i was happy.
