(no subject)

I think I am going to be mimicking that glazed sort of stare most of today. Oh, Guernsey. Maybe I can just curl up with you and the kids in the quarantine room when I get home from work. A nap would be lovely.



Guernsey fell asleep in that pose about a minute after I took the picture. Again, exactly how I feel. Rainy days get to me. Rainy days where I am already tired are extra special!

Angus looks nice and comfy...but I don't think I would fit in the wicker basket...

Crack the whip, let's get writing!

 I am participating in the Clairon West Write-a-Thon. Wish me luck, and sponsor me if you are so inclined! Main goal is to finish the draft of Familiar, writing at least 5,000 words/week. 

There will be snippets and updates and general fussing over coffee. Let's see how this goes!

My main motivation behind getting involved, apart from a general fondness for Clarion West, is a need to get myself back in writing gear. I have had difficulty putting words to paper since starting medication for the depression and anxiety issues, and am working on sorting out whether it is a cause/effect sort of situation, and if I just need to learn to write with my brain in a different (functioning!) space. Having goals and incentive will hopefully be the push I need to get past the general 'meh' that has been blocking my usual drive to make words dance.

I have been told it could also just be still dealing with loss and flood, both being major life events, with changes in brain chemistry thrown in for fun. 

Whatever the cause, cheer me on! So many of you, my excellent friends, became my friends because you started a conversation with a shy girl on the internet who liked to write stories. I still like to write stories, and I still love the encouragement and silliness from my friends that makes all the late night/early morning typing insanity 100% worth it.
