My right thumb is bruised and bandaged, and I am more amused than anything else.
A bit of background. I am fostering two ball pythons for
corvus_animus, whose current landlord is staunchly anti-serpent. They are wonderful pythons. The larger male has served me well as an arm ornament and the smaller female likes to explore ALL THE THINGS.
The smaller female is also a very enthusiastic eater (which makes me happy- I have had to deal with food-ambivalent snakes before and it is hard) and sometimes that enthusiasm really messes with her aim. Much to the dismay of my thumb. She looked very confused when I pulled her head off my hand but got the idea once I put it on a more appropriate rodent.
I then proceeded to set the male up with his dinner before taking care of the bleeding. Wee constrictors. Nothing really they can do to me apart from make me bleed and bruise. I did make
djkc bandage me up as she struck my right hand, and it was bleeding with vigor.
The rest of snake dinner time was spent with me making fun of their inability to eat like proper snakes. Rodents were fumbled, strikes were made at thin air. It was hilarious.
If you adore snakes. Which I do.
