Catching up!
Jan. 8th, 2012 10:01 amSo sorry I have been a wee bit scarce! I have the mother of all sinus infections and that plus the antibiotics they have me on are really getting to me. There has been a lot of lethargy and grumpiness.
But! I did get the short story I had been working on submitted on time, thanks to the attentive assistance of beloved beta
anat_astarte. I have my fingers crossed on that.
Newest review for Candlemark & Gleam (a wonderful small press who I support in every way possible) is live up at the review journal. It is for a fantastic and unique urban fantasy called Matchbox Girls.
djkc just allowed me to open my birthday present early. He replaced the electric tea pot I lost in the flood (it has temperature settings! For the different types of tea!). I am a bit of a tea snob at times, so proper teaware makes me insanely happy. Between the teapot and the coffee machine,
djkc has made me a very happy writer. I think it is part of some sort of plot.
Lord Phaedrus had to go to the vet for a checkup yesterday. He was Not Amused. We eventually had to actually dump him out of the carrier so he could be examined. One shot later I brought him home and administered his worming. The vet gave up trying to worm him years ago. He becomes 20 pounds of muscle, tooth, and claw when they try. Sure, I now have a new cut on one hand, but Phae mostly just growls and acts grumpy when I do it at home. Big baby. Blood work at the next visit. Here's hoping for another normal white blood cell count!
