I have been asked to take on a ferret from the local zoo. He has been used for ferret education with their zoo mobile, but has recently started biting. I will be taking him in to work with him on that bad habit so that he can go back to his zoo mobile adventures. His previous ferret companions died due to old age, and I am thinking the biting is stress and loneliness- ferrets are not well suited to being alone. I am pretty sure Oliver will help sort him out, and I know Alexander will not stand for another ferret biting him, so the bad habits should be sorted out pretty shortly. 

This is very cool news for me, as I very much enjoy working with ferrets, and I feel pretty good about the fact the zoo was comfortable asking me to take on one of their animals. Paperwork will be signed, and the little guy will be joining the crew for the winter starting Wednesday.

Hopefully I will come across another ferret or two I can adopt out to the zoo with him, so we can keep him content and non-nippy. I have one ferret I am taking in for Life Long Tails on Friday night, a four year old female, so that may work out. We shall see!

That poor thing has probably had enough of being groped if he is getting on in yrs. It has to be stressful for any animal to continue to be exposed to strangers & to have lost his teammates, is just heartbreaking. I'm surprised the zoo people didn't consider that that might be an issue before it became a problem. Glad that he has a reprieve & friendship. I'm sure he'll love being at your place.
