Continuing saga of the somewhat stray cat

Mothers have an instant reaction to a baby crying, I have one for cats.
I was outside before I really processed it wasnt the 'voice' of either of my cats crying. It was the somewhat stray, out in the downpour and crying at every door it came to, wanting in pretty badly.
We are now at the phase where the cat recognizes me as a source of petting and food, and so doesn't run away when I move. I sat on the porch with her(almost positive) for quite some time. She was happy as hell, purring and rubbing and even grooming me every now and then. Poor kid is seriously attention starved. she isn't acting wonky, so it isn't cat in heat, just...lonely and needy. She eventually settled at my side and watched the rain with me for a bit. Eventually (my feet started to get very cold) I distracted her with some Science Diet and scooted back in the house, to the rather disapproving expressions on both Mildmay and Phaedrus' faces.

isnt she pretty?

There was a lot of time spent with her rather forceful cuddles. she was pushing hard against my leg. arm. face. cellphone while I tried to take pictures.

this is me refraining from naming her. honestly. I dont plan on calling her Circe at all.

Hopefully she wanders back home soon, or politely allows me to take her down to the shelter. the local one really is fantastic.

In the meantime, Phae and Milly are spending a lot of time staring out at her while she stares in.

she is so. damn. pretty. I hate leaving her out there, but without a clean bill of health she is not getting near my kids. that and no more cats according to my lease. alas.

she is such a cuddler. If she does have a home, they don't deserve her. poor lonely kid.

i feel you on that. got two kitty girls myself these days. sis works at a shelter and is always trying to get me to adopt another but the lease says i can only have two as well.

it is a downpour out, and she is crying at my front door. I feel terrible that I can't let her in, but I dont want to risk her passing anything on to my cats *facedesk*

I totally want to keep her. she is such a doll.

Appeal to the tender mercies of your landlord for one small needy cute lonely exception? Who could say no to that face...

If landlord wiggles and gives in... getting a clean bill of health is a fairly easy thing to do. In fact, most shelters will take her, check her over, run the tests and reserve adoption for you for a short time so you can work it out.

... devil's advocate... but... that face...

Such a good cat mommy.
