With the weather changing solidly to winter, I am collecting feral cats like Pokemon. Tiger Cat and Cow Cat still come around daily, but they have been joined by an older orange tabby who I have not managed to get close to. He just appears for food and flees when he sees a human. He has a pretty gross looking coat, so I am assuming he has been outside for awhile now. Big cat, though. And today when I got home from taking care of cleaning and feeding the rescue's cats and stopping into work, there was a gorgeous, stocky brown tiger on my porch. He fled as soon as I got out of the car. I went inside, retrieved some food and as soon as he heard the sound of food being shaken in a cup he came back. Very wary though. Starving, but not quite sure about me. I spent some time talking to him a few feet away from where he was eating. Very nervous animal. Every time a car went by or a bird flew past he twitched  and looked around. He got a few mouthfuls of food before getting scared and running to the next house to hide under a bush. I coaxed him back and got him to brush against me briefly before he lost his nerve and left for good.

Well, I know Cow Cat and Tiger Cat technically have owners, but I don't think Orange Cat and Gorgeous Cat do. Their behavior is just too feral. I will see if I can tame them down and get them into the rescue at some point. Urban areas are not the place for outdoor cats.
